"HM is my Family"

"The Hospitality Management program at JMU was and still is my family! From my first day switching majors to walking across the stage at graduation, I have never felt more a part of something. I was given so many amazing opportunities through our program. My professors always had their office doors open and encouraged constant interaction. Not a day goes by where I don't think about how much the professors helped shape me into the person I am today, with skills and knowledge but also as a growing adult! I cannot wait to watch our program grow and to help in every way"

"I Learned so Much"

"It has been said that  “JMU is not just an institution of higher learning, it is a spirit, it is an atmosphere, it is a way of life I am glad to say that I have lived” – Alpha Spitzer, Class of 1937. Wherever you look on this campus there is evidence of this quote, but especially on the third floor of Godwin. I learned so much in my four years at JMU in and out of the classroom. I loved how dedicated the faculty are to each and everyone of their students and formed relationships with us that will last far beyond graduation and also helped us form relationships with each other that will last a lifetime. I couldn’t imagine a better program to prepare me for post grad life. I am beyond thankful to have had a major at Madison filled with such inspiring, passionate, and dedicated people. I firmly believe that their is no faculty as dedicated as the Hospitality faculty. Through my years as an undergrad they continually encouraged me in every aspect of college and have continued to encourage me in the months after graduation. I am honored to be a School of Hospitality and Sports Recreation Management Alumni! "
