Clubhouse Attire and Cell Phone
House Rules:
Monday through Friday, the dress
code in the Club is “business casual.” The business casual definition for
men is creased slacks/collared shirt (polo/dress shirt) and non-athletic
shoes. This attire is acceptable throughout the Clubhouse except in the
Taft Dining Room during lunch and dinner, where a jacket is required for
men. Comparable attire is required for ladies. We ask that guests
who arrive from their travels in casual attire and/or sightseers pass through
the lobby quickly if in denim, shorts, warm-ups and/or athletic shoes.
Otherwise, non-business casual attire is acceptable in the Athletic Center or
in the Clubhouse on the weekends before 6:00 p.m. Cell phones must
be in their non-ring mode at all times.
Athletic Center:
Three excellent squash professionals are on staff to give squash lessons and appointments
may be made by calling 202-824-1367. Personal training is also a hot
commodity and our certified personal trainers enjoy sharing their guidance with
Health Club users. Personal training appointments may be made by calling
202-824-1368. The Club’s Athletic Center is comprised of a fitness
center, a 25’ by 60’ indoor swimming pool and two international squash courts.
Please register in the Athletic Center on the lower level before you
begin your work-out where there is an attendant to assist you.

The William Howard Taft Dining Room
located on the lobby level is so-named because the 27th President of
the United States also served as the President of the University Club in
1904. The Taft Dining Room is the more formal of the Club’s dining
options and features excellent cuisine accompanied by impeccable service.
The feedback from members and guests alike has been overwhelming in regard to
the culinary skills of the Club’s new Executive Chef, L.J. Cousson. Chef
Cousson, formerly the chef at Kinkead’s Restaurant and the Four Seasons Hotel
